An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controls Engineer to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario. As a Controls Engineer, you will support the development of software for custom designed equipment.

In this role, you will join our innovative team working on the Mission Bay Handling System for the Type 26 frigate being built for the United Kingdom's Royal Navy.
Innovation is our DNA at Rolls-Royce. At our Peterborough, Ontario location we develop custom electro-mechanical solutions for our Naval Defence and Marine customers.
Key Accountabilities:
Analyzes and translates high level requirements and applicable standards into software requirements
Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of system components to facilitate software design
PLC, HMI program organization, planning, development, and documentation
Testing and validation of code developed for reliability and safety
Installs programs and supports system integration at our facility and in the field
Supports system level testing at our facility and in the field
Basic Requirements:
A recognized engineering degree with 5 years experience in a similar role
High level of proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Siemens Step 7 or other PLC programming software
In order to be considered for this position, you must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada for greater than 5 years
Must pass Canadian Controlled Goods and Reliability Security Clearance checks
Preferred Requirements:
A recognized electrical engineering degree and license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P.Eng
Experience with Indusoft HMI or other HMI programming software
Experience with Danfoss Plus+1 or other graphical interface programming software
Needs to be comfortable working around large equipment
Willing to travel on an occasional basis to support product commissioning /testing in the field and/or to support design qualification testing at third-party test house(s)
