Our Submarines business is currently expanding and opening a new Office based in Cardiff in which we are looking for Engineers across multiple engineering disciplines. As part of this we are looking for a number of people with a strong background within Materials Engineering.
As we continue to support the Royal Navy as the technical authority to the UK Ministry of Defence for naval reactor plants, we’re also growing our submarine and nuclear sector capabilities.
As a Materials engineer you will support the entire lifecycle, from design and manufacture to in-service support for the Nuclear Propulsion Plant. You will need to be driven and capable of owning and delivering technology development programmes. You will also need a good understanding of materials, corrosion, chemistry or NDE technology and be able to apply your technical knowledge to a range of problems.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
