At a time when the Infrastructure requirement for our business is growing and we have some very exciting large scale, complex construction projects coming up, the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business is looking for Senior Commercial and Contract Management specialists, for team and leadership roles to support a growing portfolio of facilities and infrastructure projects within our UK business.

Projects will be related to the construction of new nuclear and conventional infrastructure facilities as well as the repair or refurbishment of existing facilities. You will work in a range of fast-moving project teams including project management, project controls, engineering, HSE, group property and planning functions.

You will have commercial and contract management responsibility through the full project life cycle across a programme of works. Significant knowledge of NEC forms of contract and experience of procurement and commercial management using NEC forms of contract is a must. Leadership experience or appetite is also important as we require skills in project leadership and team leadership across our portfolio of construction projects.

What you will be doing:

You will commercially manage high value/complex construction contracts, ensuring Rolls-Royce Submarines Business commercial risk is managed appropriately throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for the delivery of a consistent and high quality commercial service from project inception through to execution an close out including procurement, budget management, commercial management, contract administration, commercial dispute management and commercial performance management.

• Lead on the commercial and contract management of projects/contracts and ensure that all works/services are managed in line with the contracts. Ensure all contractual matters are responded within the contractual timescales.
• Be responsible for a commercial team and oversee the work of wider commercial and contract service provide.
• Provide expertise and support through the forecasting/ budget management process as part of an integrated team. Attend and lead monthly project commercial reviews and wider programme level reviews with wider project teams and suppliers.
• Provide commercial support to project teams on contract administration, cost capture, analysis, performance, related intelligence and opportunities for performance improvement of supply chain partners.
• Absorbing complex and diverse information and use strong practical influencing skills, both internally and externally to optimise Rolls-Royce commercial interests. Liaise with Legal, Commercial, Risk, Group Property and others as required to ensure Rolls-Royce Submarines Business commercial risk is appropriately managed and mitigated.
• Collaborating & Partnering – Engaging proactively and influencing project teams and supply chain partners including at senior level.
• Continuous analysis and review of contract performance and cost performance to identify and implement improvements.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Significant knowledge of NEC forms of contract
• Experienced commercial management and contract management using NEC forms of contract
• Experienced in successful project delivery throughout the whole project lifecycle.
• Achieving Commercial Outcomes - Manage the integrity of commercial relationships and delivery arrangements
• Experienced in working as part of fast-paced cross-functional supply chain project teams with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualification or Professional qualification (RICS, ICE, CIPS, APM) or working towards this status
• Awareness / familiarity of relevant laws and regulation applicable to Construction Management

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
