Responsible for project work relating to electrical, mechanical, and programming systems of new and existing equipment. Responsible for assisting manufacturing Global Technicians with manufacturing floor maintenance issues as necessary, as well as mentoring the manufacturing Global Technicians in trouble shooting methods and techniques of manufacturing processes and equipment. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the Controls Coordinator & Process Engineers in implementation of process improvements in the area of mechanical & electrical systems, programming, and Vision Systems.
Electrical and Pneumatic Machine Design and programming.
Perform new equipment installation as directed. Support Plant initiatives in Vision Inspection technology and implementation.
Coordinate Continuous Improvement efforts with Process Engineers to enhance processes.
Technical development of the manufacturing Global Technicians.
Project management for medium or smaller projects.
Execute IOQ validation protocols for Controls Systems and Vision Systems, and new equipment installations and process improvements as directed.
Assist in development of machine settings and validated parameters for equipment.
Assist in identifying future and current machine component and system risks.
Continuously learn and keep abreast of new developments in technology in the Controls, Vision, and Process Monitoring industry.
Assist in establishing plant wide controls standards Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Travel requirements up to 10% possible depending on projects.
Initiates and follows change control procedure to implement changes.
Support department production by keeping machines in proper working order.
Maintain equipment to reduce downtime by performing required PMs.
Order replacement parts and set up in tool crib as required.
Identify and implement process improvements, using the CIR process. Assist with engineering projects when required.
Required to work during plant shutdown periods to perform PMs and assist with engineering projects.
Duties may require correction of problems during off-shifts on a call-up basis.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Minimum Education :
Required : Associates degree: Electrical mechanical Technology or related field
Minimum Experience:
2 years electrical mechanical systems, general controls, programming experience working with automated assembly and packaging equipment for high volume production and inspection.
