Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Experienced engineering resource to improve the competitiveness of the organization in a performance based team environment. Complete projects by applying team leader and project management skills to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Support facility’s Quality System and tactical plans.
Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment.
Drive continuous improvement, improved safety and cost reductions.
Participate in multi-functional project teams and implement individual project tasks.
Perform mechanical/electrical testing and gauge R&R studies.
Statistically analyze data (e.g., process capability, Design of Experiments).
Trouble-shoot processes, equipment and quality systems and develop/implement corrective and preventive actions.
Exercise independent judgment to perform job responsibilities, including taking the lead in managing larger scope projects.
Provide sound engineering judgment and decisions.
Knowledgeable on materials for GFO product designs in areas of responsibility.
Qualify and validate new material and suppliers.
Optimally train manufacturing employees on specifications and processes.
Author CRs, protocols, technical reports and CB2s.
Technical work with manufacturing teams.
Lead small multi-functional project teams.
Organize and effectively lead meetings.

Education and/or Experience:
Four (4) Year Degree, plus minimum of two (2) years engineering experience
in lieu of degree, minimum of seven (7) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Basic Qualification:
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time or in the future.
Experience with or exposure to process and quality improvement tools and projects.
Able to perform root cause analysis using quality tools (Fishbone diagram, Six Sigma, etc.).
Understanding of capital expenditures (CB2s).
Business writing skills.
Capable of translating technical documents to manufacturing operators.
Ability to be flexible, and deal with changing priorities.
Demonstrates strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
Demonstrates leadership skills.
Take initiative in learning new technologies and materials.
Able to travel as needed.
Ability to take on problems and conflicts, work well with others and demonstrate collaboration.
Demonstrates a shown work ethic and positive demeanor/attitude.
Customer focus, innovative, results oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Certification.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
Experience in a regulated environment.
Physical Demands:
Regular typing and computer work performed daily. Requires occasional light physical effort (e.g., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping reaching and/or lifting of light items - up to 30 lbs.).
Work Environment:
General office and medical device manufacturing environment. May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes, requiring some precaution. Some minor inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.).
Training Requirements:
On-the-Job, SOP’s required for position, and GMP.
