Job Description
ICF provides research, evaluation and analysis services that help government to understand the impacts of policies and programmes. We are looking for a framework/programme coordinator to help us deliver a major, multi-year programme of support to the UK Government on policies relevant to climate change, the natural environment, food, farming and fishing. Working with experienced technical staff and our wider programme support team, you will be helping us to manage and deliver first class monitoring, evaluation and learning services.
In this role, you will be joining a community of experienced environmental experts, analysts and programme management professionals. Your role will be to help us coordinate programme, proposal and project activities under large evaluation frameworks – from proposal through to project reporting and closure stages. Working alongside programme manager(s), your day-to-day work may involve:
- Engaging with government officials who are commissioning and using our support service;
- Coordinating our responses to requests for technical support (project proposals), closely monitoring timelines and deadlines;
- Engaging with our employees and partners in the preparation of project proposals and subcontracts, and the set-up of projects in ICF systems;
- Supporting effective and efficient delivery or proposals and projects by liaising with procurement, data protection and other internal ICF teams who support our work;
- Supporting the application of our quality assurance systems to our team’s reports and other outputs, including document proof-reading and formatting checks.
- Helping to organise and deliver online and face-to-face events delivered by ICF to disseminate the learning points from our evaluation and research;
- Managing the systems used to host technical data, reports and other outputs;
- Supporting the maintenance of the databases used in delivery of the services;
- Working with programme managers to maintain programme dashboards and other management information systems;
- Preparing management reporting submissions for our client(s), closely monitoring timelines and deadlines;
- Providing support to the financial administration of the programme, such as financial reporting and invoicing;
- Using our performance feedback system;
- Helping to ensure effective communication within the ICF team;
We have a flexible, hybrid model in which you can balance working from home with use of our UK bases in London, Plymouth, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester.
Skills and personal qualities:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written English.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a methodical and thorough approach.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
- Ability to multitask and to manage a varied workload to achieve agreed deadlines without compromising quality or standards.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet client and organisational priorities and needs.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Diplomatic and able to interact with many external individuals and clients.
- Ability to demonstrate a 'can-do approach', being a problem solver and team player.
- Ability to work with all levels of internal and external parties, including clients.
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
Required experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment.
- Experience of coordination activities, working with Project Managers or Technical Staff, in larger-scale PMOs.
- Experience of working with / developing project and programme management tools and progress trackers, and of managing and documenting information at project level.
- We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience in
- Project financial administration and contracting processes
- Supporting the preparation of technical reports
- Supporting organisational learning and the dissemination of knowledge.
- This role would particularly suit someone with prior experience in coordination of research programmes or other public-funded programmes. Experience in environmental, sustainability, or issues relating to food and farming is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a consulting environment would also be an advantage but we also welcome applicants with backgrounds in academia, non-governmental employment or the public sector.
This role would be based in one of our UK bases, which are located in London, Plymouth, Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester. Therefore you must be able to illustrate you have the full right to work in the United Kingdom.
