Senior social and economic researcher – environment, marine, agriculture and food policy
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our growing environment, marine, agriculture and food policy practice in delivering social and economic research.
We provide research services to UK central government (e.g. Defra), EU institutions, as well as other national governments, local government, businesses and NGOs. We hold several multi-year framework contracts with these clients.
You will work on issues at the top of today’s policy agenda, including:
Examples of our current work include: social research, behavioural change analysis, and evaluation on sustainable and participatory approaches to fisheries management, supporting Defra and the MMO implement the UK Fisheries Act; social and economic research and evaluation supporting the implementation of major funding programmes and policy initiatives addressing biodiversity loss and climate change, such as nature based solutions, nutrient trading and tree planting; research to support the development of a new approach to pay land managers for providing public goods, as directed under the UK Agriculture Act, including ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of new schemes such as the Sustainable Farming Incentive.
From day one, you will contribute to a diverse range of assignments by undertaking qualitative and quantitative research and analysis that impacts directly on public policy decisions. In parallel, we will provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills further through excellent training and development support, structured career guidance systems, our mentoring programme, communities of practice and line management arrangements.
