Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Located in Bishopstoke, SO50)
We have an opportunity for a mechanical maintenance technician to join the maintenance team. The role will be at our production facility in Bishopstoke and involve the following -
Working to the Health & Safety and Environmental legislations
Diagnosing, fault finding and repair of medium/heavy industrial plant and machinery.
Completing preventative maintenance checks and inspections.
Developing and implementing modifications to improve reliability and efficiency of plant and machinery.
Working to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays
Qualifications/Experience in the following
Time served qualified industrial maintenance mechanical fitter/technician
BTEC NVQ or equivalent qualification in mechanical maintenance
Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding
Maintenance of rotating machinery
Machining and welding experience would be advantageous
The Person
Self-starter, proactive, prepared to take the initiative and work without direct supervision.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Work well under pressure.
Practical approach.
Team player.
Flexible attitude to overtime and shifts as per requirement
Location details
This role is based in our offices near the Eastleigh town centre. The address is Prysmian Cables & Systems Limited, Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh, SO50 6YU. There are good transport links to Eastleigh and the site is approximately 15 minutes walk from the railway station. We are able to offer free car parking next to our offices.
