We are seeking a Production Supervision Manager to oversee Manufacturing operations at our fast-paced Stafford Manufacturing facility. The Production Supervision Manager will be responsible for the on-time and efficient delivery of quality products whilst continuously monitoring and improving production processes to ensure maximum output, cost efficiency and safe working conditions. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable to change and able to continuously motivate employees to achieve the above-mentioned business objectives.
Job Description
Objectives of this role:
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
Oversee daily operations. Plan and execute weekly production requirements, ensure zero customer overdues.
Ensure that work areas operate at peak efficiency — by supervising, organizing, training employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
Work collaboratively with multiple departments, ensuring business priorities are executed effectively and efficiently.
Implement and encourage Lean manufacturing, process flow, and continuous improvement tools and methodologies. Examples include: 5s, Reactivity, waste hunting etc.
Train and manage the team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
Review and manage Overtime, shift and staffing requirements on a weekly basis. Ensure sufficient cover during employee absenteeism.
Responsibilities:
This job requires a people leader with the ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
Identify bottlenecks and constraint points; understand available capacity: track labour utilization and efficiency and ensure these are managed to maximize output.
Supervise daily activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, productivity, shipping, and customer service.
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
Meet daily with employees to analyse Key performance indicators, these include Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
Participate in and lead process improvement projects, value stream mapping events, NPI projects and Kaizen events/lean projects. Utilizes lean manufacturing skills to improve Production Productivity and efficiency.
Required skills and qualifications:
Experience in a Manufacturing Supervision/Project Management role.
Proficiency with Manufacturing procedures and processes.
Excellent application knowledge of problem solving tools such as PSR, Six Sigma.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
Ability to effectively motivate and performance manage employees and take disciplinary action when needed.
Excellent organisational skills to plan production schedules and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment
Strong communication skills to actively listen to stakeholders and clearly verbalise ideas and action plans
Experience using SAP ERP systems.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
Professional qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering or equivalent and/or complementary training in or relevant experience
Working experience in Manufacturing and Management Experience/Qualifications
Experience in Manufacturing Principles, Efficiency Improvements and Change management.
LEAN Six Sigma qualification
