Investment Risk Analyst – London

A bit about the job:
The scope of the Global Investment Risk Team is to provide independent challenge and risk measurement and management of investment risks - market-related risks borne by Aviva Investors’ (‘AI’) clients. The Investment Risk team is part of the broader Risk function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (‘CRO’).
The Risk Analyst will be a member of the second line Equity Investment Risk Team within the CRO function. The team is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the AI Equity Risk Framework, Policies, Risk Appetite Statements and Key Risk Indicators in conjunction with AI’s strategic and business objectives and monitoring of investment risk at all levels, i.e., within balanced funds and individual asset classes, providing expert analysis and challenge to the fund managers. Concerns that are not acted upon by fund managers, may be escalated to the CRO or raised at relevant Boards/ Committees.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Exposure of working with the Investment Risk Managers and Credit Risk to implement enhanced risk & quantitative models, risk systems and automated reporting workflows to be used in monthly investment risk and performance meetings.
Experience of preparing investment risk packs for the purposes of Equity portfolio risk meetings.
Exposure of Equity Risk Management Frameworks/ Appetite Statements/ Policies/ Standards as well as the relevant Aviva Group provisions.
A strong academic background in quantitative or mathematical disciplines (Economics, Accounting, Maths or Finance major preferred)
Advanced Excel skills and programming experience in Python, R, and VBA
