Due to continued significant investment, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a professional Software Engineer to join a well-established and highly collaborative team. We are currently number 1 in the market for Individual Protection and we aim to maintain this spot, by improving the way we work and engage with customers, with a current change budget of around £10m.
This opportunity could be ideal for you, if you are seeking a varied role with the prospect for phenomenal growth and development. You will be given the option to work across different areas such as cloud, development and infrastructure, however this role would be suitable for you, if you have infrastructure experience but we can be flexible. You will have the necessary technical experience and a passion for delivering first class services to both our internal customers and 3rd party suppliers and would ideally suit someone who enjoys the dynamics of a technical role but with lots of client interaction.
A bit about the job:
Aviva Technology Platforms requires Software Engineers to drive forward the delivery of high-profile projects to grow and enhance our business.
As the Software Engineer, you will have a key role to play in the Platform team, supporting the protection administration platform across high profile business change programmes which include new distribution arrangements with major high street business partners as well as solutions supporting Financial Advisors, policyholders and internal business functions.
You will work with Customers, Solution Designers, Environment and Deployment teams and Testers and will contribute to the delivery and support of complex solutions working in agile development teams.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Developing high quality scripting/SQL based solutions to automate and configure the support of a 3rd Party contract engine across all test and production environments
Working as part of a team to deploying latest releases of code and support the application on a 24*7 basis, including incident and problem resolution
Contributing to designing solutions that meet the strategic requirements of our business
Identifying improvement opportunities such as enhancements to standards or technical innovations to increase the quality and efficiency of delivery
Providing technical expertise and collaborating in teams operating across the UK

Salary between £32,000 - £47,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
