A bit about the job:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career in a challenging and rewarding field within a 1st line Risk team. You will be supporting the Head of Governance & Operational Risk to oversee and monitor specific risk management responsibilities, mainly – but not limited to - risk events, within Real Assets. You will report and escalate events as identified and you will monitor implementation against policy requirements. The successful candidate will provide training (formal / informal) to the business on the RED (Risk Event Database) database and support the business to ensure risk events are added to RED in a timely manner and escalated as appropriate. You will also need to monitor completion of all open incidents ensuring a timely closure and escalate as required. When risk events are presented for closure, you will need to ensure that the business evidence/confirms that action has been closed. All communications with stakeholders must be saved accordingly. Alongside this, the role holder will work with Risk Managers/Senior Managers to identify and create issues where necessary; Link issue reference with RED reference – and vice versa - where necessary.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Previous exposure to the asset/investment management industry and/or the risk & compliance domain.
Keen to use new tools, early adopter e.g. O365 Apps, Qlik, etc
Already know the internal Aviva tools such as RED database, iCare and Ariba
Great engagement and influencing skills, recognising the importance of developing strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve results and having the confidence to challenge the business in an appropriate way.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, etc).
