Expense Management Senior Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000
This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with a passion for delivering better performance to help support the delivery of UK General Insurance exciting strategic vision.
The Expense Management Senior Manager role will be focussed on driving the efficiency agenda in UK General Insurance and supporting UK General Insurance significant growth plans.
This is a pivotal role in the UK General Insurance Expense Management team, leading by example to drive performance acceleration and instilling an efficiency culture - understanding, advising, and challenging on where we invest and the link to performance metrics.
A bit about the job:
The focus of this role will be driving the efficiency agenda across the breadth of UK General Insurance £700m cost base.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing insight and advice to the UK General Insurance senior leaders on the trajectory of the cost base and active management of risks and opportunities, including integrating the impact of Transformation activity.
- Leading the team to provide high quality actuals and forecasts and drawing actionable business insight from these.
- Drawing out key insights, emerging themes, and lead indicators of performance across UK General Insurance business cost base (direct and indirect) and presenting back to key stakeholders.
- Working closely with Finance and Business stakeholders, championing a strong performance culture and focus through active challenge of forecasts and initiatives against targets and to support delivery on continued cost progression.
- Driving value from UK General Insurance Transformation portfolio through review of business cases, ensuring a clear link to overall financials, and understanding delivery data points.
- Transforming our expense management forecasting and actuals processes to continue to deliver greater value for proportionate effort.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience working in a Finance team in a large organisation, or with relevant experience in the insurance industry with an understanding of expenses.
- Commercial focus and ability to identify what’s important.
- Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, and resilience to challenge.
- Forward looking, action focussed, and performance driven.
- Champions change and strives for improved outcomes.

- Starting salary between: £60,000 - £75,000 (location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
