Job Description
Compass Government Solutions is currently hiring a Physician or Physician Extender for a Medical Officer of the Day role at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System in St. Cloud, MN to care for US Veterans as the acting Medical Officer of the Day. MD/DOs, NPs, and PAs are all encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements of the Medical Officer of the Day:
- Providing Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) for night shifts 4 pm – 8 am, Monday through Friday throughout the week, including federal holidays (24 hours), 24-hour or 48-hour weekend coverage, and any other mutually agreed upon hours.
- Assessment of in-house patients (average 2 patient transfers and 3 program admissions per tour)
- MOD tours on evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
Qualifications of the Medical Officer of the Day:
- Education – Graduate from a nationally accredited University
- Full and Unrestricted license to practice from a state, territory, or commonwealth
- Continuing education courses required for maintaining certification
- Current DEA certificate and NPI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Nationally Certified/Board Certified Provider of one of the following specialties:
- Physicians – Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Physician Extenders - Adult Health, Geriatric, Family or Primary Care
