A full-time position has come up to begin in the new academic year, within a Cardiff based Primary school, working in their SRB. The role is confirmed for a September start, working on a full-time basis 5 days a week. The school itself caters for around 430 pupils, with 12 currently registered in the SRB needing additional support.
You will be supporting a class of 12 pupils with Additional Learning Needs such as Autism and Speech and Language Difficulties. You may be needed to support in the main building of the school, depending on pupils’ needs.
Requirements
• Supporting on a 1:1 basis with individuals in the SRB class, as well as general support within the group.
• Creating and maintaining an engaging and safe learning environment for pupils.
• Creating and delivering literacy and numeracy sessions; as well as liaising with the class teacher to develop pupils’ individual learning needs targeting specific areas of learning needs.
• Support the class teacher with delivering planned actives and sessions.
To be considered for this role, you will need necessary experience of working with pupils aged 3-11 for at least 40 days over the last 2 years.
You are required to be polite, supportive and have a can-do attitude whilst working in the school. Excellent time management skills are necessary for the role.
You must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a check.
