We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within a fantastic Primary School in West Cardiff. The school has around 240 pupils on roll, with an age range of 3-11. They have an excellent staff base with their SLT also taking time to support pupils in the learning environment by teaching.
This role is confirmed for 5 days a week on a long-term basis and confirmed until the end of the academic year.
Requirements
You will be working on a 1:1 basis within the Foundation phase, supporting a pupil with additional literacy and numeracy sessions. You will be assisting the class teacher on a general basis with classroom duties such as preparing lesson materials, leading reading and writing group sessions and any additional duties set by the teacher.
Duties related to the role include but are not limited to:
- Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with ALN (Additional Learning Needs).
- Assisting the class teacher with any day-to-day duties in the classroom.
- Supporting pupils with their literacy and numeracy development.
To be successful in this role, it is necessary that you have had experience working with pupils aged 3-11 for at least 3 months over the last 2 years. Experience working with pupils with Autism / ASD on a 1:1 basis would be preferable but not essential.
You must hold a valid enhanced DBS check on the update service, or be willing to undergo a check.
