At Twinkl Scotland, we pride ourselves on creating quality content for all ages and stages of Scottish education. From ELC, through Primary and now into Secondary, we aim to provide content that engages learners and supports Scottish educators in getting it right for every child. We are always looking for opportunities to further support our users and respond to current educational initiatives and, as such, we are now delighted to be focusing on developing our Conduit English resources and team.
Conduit is our Scottish Secondary brand, launched in August 2022. We began with a small team of English teachers to develop teaching and learning resources as well as materials to support skills development to help bridge the gap between the BGE and Senior Phase. We now work on additional subject areas too. The Conduit English team has become so successful that we are ready to grow and develop our Secondary English offering further. As Product Owner you will be responsible for the strategic development of Conduit English and lead the product team in implementing this vision for further success.
This role does not require you to work from the Twinkl office and meetings can be conducted via GoogleMeet/Hangouts when required. This is a remote, flexible position. Working hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments but you should have availability for team meetings during office hours.
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
Ideate, plan and develop a vision for innovative Secondary English resources that support educators to deliver high quality and relevant learning and teaching experiences.
Sprint planning for your product and preparing and delivering monthly product reviews.
Being the point of contact for all product team members on Conduit English and working as part of an agile working team to achieve sprint goals.
To succeed in the role, you will:
Ensure high quality content and customer satisfaction
Use data and customer insights to inform current and future product planning
Work through the Product and Services Roadmap (PSR) to ensure the development and success of the Conduit English product.
In this role, you will learn:
A greater understanding of agile working practises
How to spot data trends to drive decisions
Understanding of pain points affecting our customers and identifying ways of addressing these
Reporting on product performance and creating a product strategy
Overseeing the product journey and communicating this with stakeholders
Researching and developing innovative concepts within the market
You’ll work with:
Collaborating with the wider Conduit team, other Product Owners, customer-facing teams and key areas of the business
Your product team - Content Writers, Editors, Designers and Illustrators.
Requirements
We're interested in anyone who meets a combination of the following:
5 Years Secondary English with teaching experience in the BGE as well as Senior Phase classes within The Curriculum for Excellence
Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of key strategies and policy drivers within Scottish education
Experience of working within an agile product team, with secure knowledge of the production process
Experience of delivering projects; from ideation through to completion
Be an effective listener and communicator
Be able to present the work completed and the detail in the value the product provides
Ability to spot trends and be comfortable acting upon them
Is organised, able to work to deadlines, a good communicator and manages time effectively
