Job Descrption

JOB PURPOSE ·       Support the development of annual internal audit plan and assist in ensuring compliance with the internal audit annual plan as per industry standards and best practice·       Implement the annual IA Plan supporting the Group IA Head/ line manager·       Implement IA assurance activities, investigations, advisory and strategic initiatives against the departmental KPI’s

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Administration:·       Assist the development and revision of IA processes and governance documents (e.g., Charter, P&Ps, etc.) for line manager’s review.·       Assist in the annual risk assessment exercise for formulating department strategy and plans·       Ensure compliance to the approved IA processes, P&Ps during the execution of assurance activities.·       Assist the implementation of assigned departmental strategic projects·       Interview and select suitable candidates for assurance engagements secondments ·       Monitor service provider’s billings and analyze internal audit budgets per engagement and respond to variances.
Execution:·       Conduct kickoff meetings to discuss the engagement scope with the business unit (BU)·       Identify the key processes and develop the business process understanding (BPU)·       Develop risk assessment control matrix (RACM) based on the process review identifying risks and their related controls·       Develop the relevant work program to test the adequacy and effectiveness of controls·       Identify, validate observations and improvement opportunities for Group IA Head’s review·       Draft detailed report and executive summary for Group IA Head’s review and final discussion with BU·       Conduct exit meeting with Head of BU agreeing on the remedial action plans·       Ensure that audit management system (AMS) is up to date with all the supporting work papers·       Conduct a follow-up on a periodic basis on the status of action plans and escalate open items, as required and update AMS·       Conduct investigations/ advisory services of/ to BUs as assigned by the Group IA Head/ line manager·       Supervise and review assigned secondees’ engagement work and deliverables
Monitoring and reporting:·       Assess and respond to variance against the annual IA Plan for the department. Prepare periodic summary reports for the Group IA Head/ line manager·       Periodically follow-up and provide update to the Group IA Head/ line manager on the status of IA observations·       Draft ad hoc presentations and ARCC progress reports as assigned by the line manager·       Draft the annual ARCC Report to the Board·       Review key regulatory reports such as the Corporate Governance and Annual Report
Oversight:·       Align/ steer subsidiaries IA activities with Group IA methodology/ approach
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE:- Min of 8+ years of experience in Internal Audit
YOE IN MANAGERIAL POSITION: Min of 1-year managerial experience; preferably in a fast growth environment.
FIELD OF EXPERIENCE: ·       Previous Big 4 Auditing/ Professional Firm experience is mandatory·       Real estate development, investment and asset management experience is preferred
TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS·       Expert in IA procedures, analyzing internal control gaps·       Presentation and communication skills·       Excellent analytical skills·       Proven skills in negotiation and problem resolution
QUALIFICATION·       Accounting/CPA or finance qualifications is required·       Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
