About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team at GluCare. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for driving technical excellence, innovation, and the successful delivery of our platform.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for their professional growth.
• Set the technical direction and architecture for the GluCare platform, making informed decisions on technology stacks, infrastructure, and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize engineering projects and roadmaps.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient project management, code quality, and timely delivery of features and enhancements.
• Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

1. Establish and maintain engineering best practices and standards, including code reviews, testing frameworks, and documentation.
2. Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and successful delivery of outsourced projects.
3. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvements.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions with other departments and systems.
5. Manage and prioritize technical debt and scalability challenges, ensuring the long-term sustainability and scalability of the GluCare platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience with modern software development technologies and frameworks, including cloud-based architectures, microservices, and DevOps practices.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the healthcare or digital health industry is a plus.
