JOB PURPOSE
As a Senior Accountant at Burberry, you will be responsible for the record to report (RTR) activities, month end processes and reporting for a variety of functions across the UK & Ireland for Burberry. This is a varied finance role with a commercial focus, lots of stakeholder visibility and the opportunity to manage a small but effective team.
This Senior Accountant role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Queen Street, Leeds office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in office)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconciliation, review and approval of RTR balances and manual journal adjustments for various UK and Ireland entities
Preparing and reviewing RTR reports for internal and external reporting
Acting as a key contact and subject matter expert for the wider Finance team and external auditors
Responsibility for managing stakeholders across the business, resolving complex issues creatively and working collaboratively with all.
Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritising work effectively to ensure that these queries are managed within SLA's
Supporting and reviewing of work for 2 direct reports, providing regular feedback, coaching and development
Ensuring compliance with Burberry Group policies, including operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
PERSONAL PROFILE
Qualified Accountant/Finalist within an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar)
Practical accounting experience within industry (listed/multinational/multicurrency experience a plus)
Experience in application of IFRS & UK GAAP
Intermediate/advanced Excel capability essential
Exceptional communication skills across all levels, to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Excellent attention to detail, able to prioritise and work while managing complexity
