As a Lead Product Engineer, you will spearhead the design and development of OEM Passenger Car and On Highway Heavy Duty Vehicle filtration systems, ensuring adherence to internal/external product specifications, cost, and timing, while fostering effective communication with customers and cross-functional teams to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
Main Tasks
Lead the design and development of OEM Passenger Car and On Highway Heavy Duty Vehicle filtration systems.
Conceptualize complex new product designs, changes, and concepts to meet internal/external product specifications, cost, and timing.
Communicate regularly with customers, maintaining a high level of accountability and responsiveness to "Be Our Customer's First Choice."
Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate product designs and specifications, determining feasibility while minimizing costs for development and manufacturing.
Collaborate with operations to understand process capabilities and make product design recommendations aligned with production strategies.
Coordinate all CAE required to validate product designs analytically, analyzing results to optimize design for performance, robust manufacturing, and cost.
Collaborate with Testing to establish validation methods and interpret results, recommending product design changes based on test results.
Regularly team up with the Global Business Technology Solutions (GBTS) to finish engineering and CAD assignments.
Assist in the development of PDE I and PDE II team members by mentoring and delegating tasks.
Actively participate and support Kaizen/DLS workshops and annual objectives.
Complete required tasks for each Gate per xSEP process.
Your Profile
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Must have 2 years of Lead Product Engineer experience.
Experience with Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Familiarity with internal combustion engine systems and other automotive components.
Required Skills:
Ability to solve technical problems.
Ability to organize and manage tasks to meet project deadlines.
Must have availability for overnight domestic and limited international travel (10-20%).
Preferred Qualifications:
Catia experience preferred or NX/Creo.
Experience working in the Automotive and/or Heavy Duty industry.
Plastics experience.
Filtration experience.
