MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the building and equipment maintenance to ensure an uptime on all essential facility services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Responsible for the building and maintenance of the facilities of Mediclinic City Hospital.
• Attend to repair requirements reported by users in accordance with operational requirements (i.e., Job Card) in a timely manner
• Ensure that documentation (i.e. job cards) is carried out appropriately
• Assess tools requirement prior to the job and utilize correctly
• Reports problems and re-work quality failures as per procedure
• Reports incidents and potential risks and takes corrective action when necessary
• Install awareness among all staff to maintain a safe hospital environment
• Obtains permission to access areas and isolation of service is strictly controlled and communicated
• Accompany and assist contractors as per instruction and policies
• Check and sign delivery notes as per procedure
• To carry out designated tasks as assigned by the Engineering coordinator.
• Client expectations are met and quality client service principles are maintained.
• Client complaints are resolved and escalated if required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

A technical diploma or trade certificate

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum four years experience in a similar position preferable if within the healthcare industry or a medical setting
• Has working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS)

• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior managers

• Good skills with the Microsoft suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio
• Must be able to manage resources effectively

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Computer literacy (MS Office package)
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
• General Filing and document management
• Stock management and control
