Job Description

• Assist Finance managers in their day-to-day responsibilities to ensure actuals are reported on time, free of material misstatements and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (Group reporting policy and local statutory requirements)
• Support the accounting and reporting processes of key balance sheet items leading to the finalization of the monthly report to the Group and/or the financial statements of the entities in scope
• Review and confirm monthly the expenditures and profits by division /cost center are correct
• Analyze all other fiscal activities and certify that they comply with accounting policy requirements
• Provide analysis and present to management to understand trends or deviations on actuals versus budget
• Monitor expenditures, revenue and use of company resources to ensure businesses operate within budget
• Prepare and post journal entries supported by appropriate documentation of non-HR provisions, social security, and payroll entries in the system
• Prepare accounting reconciliations monthly maintaining the required accounting documentation (e.g. valid & actual supporting document, audit trail reports)
• Review overhead expenses and recharge the same to other AP affiliates
• Monthly VAT revenue reconciliation and provide VAT data to tax team, post and reconcile post-VAT return
• Post tax related journal entries in SUN
• Assist during external and internal audit by providing required reports and documents
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (business coordinators, Procurement, Legal, Tax and other finance teams) regarding all accounting-related queries
• Ad-hoc Account payable reconciliations
• Petty cash monitoring and monthly reconciliations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting, ideally certified CPA / ACCA. 
• 4+ years of experience in accounting
• Strong Office computer skills
• Experience working with ERP systems such as Sun, Oracle and Hyperion 
• Experience in Big Four would be a plus
• Able to multitask and work on tight dedalines
