Job Description

Primary responsibilities: 

• Assist Finance managers in their day-to-day responsibilities to ensure actuals are reported on time, free of material misstatements and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (Group reporting policy and local statutory requirements),
• Supports the accounting and reporting processes of key balance sheet items leading to the finalization of the monthly report to the Group and/or the financial statements of the entities in scope,
• Review and confirm monthly the expenditures and profits by division /cost center are correct,
• Analyzes all other fiscal activities and certifies that they comply with accounting policy requirements,
• Provide analysis and comment to management to understand trend or deviation on actuals versus budget, previous year and previous month,
• The senior accountant monitors expenditures, revenue and use of company resources to ensure businesses operate within budget.

Specific responsibilities: 

• Prepare and post journal entries supported by appropriate documentation of non-HR provisions, social security, and payroll entries in SUN.
• Prepare accounting reconciliations monthly maintaining the required accounting documentation (e.g. valid & actual supporting document, audit trail reports),
• Review overhead expenses and recharge the same to other AP affiliates as per agreement in SUN.
• Periodically overlook T-codes combinations in SUN.
• Adhere to relevant internal standards, procedures and protocols (e.g. Group Reporting Policies, Internal controls, QHSE, Integrity, Sustainability, Professional Conduct etc.) and local Tax regulations
• Monthly BOSS – VAT – Sun revenue reconciliation and provide VAT data to tax team, post and reconcile post-VAT return.
• Post tax related journal entries in SUN.
• Assisting seniors and teams during external and internal audit during by providing required reports and documents.
• Liaise with internal stake holders (business coordinators or teams, Procurement, Legal, Tax and other finance teams) regarding all accounting-related queries.
• Ad-hoc Account payable reconciliations
• Affiliate AR recon and corrective actions to reduce Intercompany mismatched
• Petty cash monitoring and monthly reconciliations
• HFM – Sun monthly reconciliations
• Ad-hoc as and when needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting, ideally certified CPA / ACCA. 
• Strong accounting knowledge, background and experience (more than 4 years)
• Strong Office computer skills
• Experience working with ERP systems such as Sun, Oracle and Hyperion knowledge would be an advantage.
• Strong Office computer skills
• Experience in a Big Four would be a plus
