Job Descrption
- Identify and develop required data frameworks, optimization and predicative learning models, and enabling tools necessary to support business operation decisions.
- Conceive, design, prototype and implement advanced algorithms aimed at generating solutions to critical problems
- Assess algorithm performance on real-world data, and monitor the business performance
- Support multiple projects throughout the company
- Document results via written reports, briefings and well-commented code
- Engage customers and collaborators to provide technical results and recommendations
- Communicate with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs and appropriate modelling techniques to provide analytical solutions.
OTHER
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Master’s or PhD degree in applied mathematics, statistics, data science, operation research, or related field
- 3-6 years’ relevant experience in a research scientist or data scientist role
- Ability to quickly pick up “on the fly” new skills and develop expertise necessary to provide the best possible solution
- Experience in scientific programming using Python, R, C++, Matlab, or similar high-level languages.
- Basic understanding of Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate solution concepts clearly and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple organizations and drive alignment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- Intellectual curiosity and high motivation to solve challenging problems
